Scope: non-specific antioxidant in various tissues, such as cell wall; anti-oxidative effect in fats and cholesterol, but also in vit. A, carotene and other fat soluble substances; Vit. E is built into the fats; many effects can be explained by anti-oxidative effect and influence on conversion of AA; has a preventive effect and also appears to have a therapeutic effect on cancer; in high dose cortisol-like effect
